The undergraduate education system of the University of Sydney is mainly divided into three categories, namely, three-year undergraduate, four-year undergraduate and five-year undergraduate. Among them, the general three-year undergraduate degree is the most common undergraduate degree. Compared with the three-year undergraduate course, the four-year undergraduate course adds one year of language or professional elective courses, which belongs to the intensive undergraduate course. Five-year undergraduate courses are usually set for specific majors, which can replace master's degrees to some extent, such as Bachelor of Laws and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Sydney.
