National english contest for college students (NECCS) is the only competition in China to examine college students' comprehensive English ability, which is organized by the Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee and the Foreign Language Teaching Research Association.

The purpose of this competition is to cooperate with the evaluation of higher education teaching level of the Ministry of Education, implement the spirit of college English teaching reform and examination reform of the Ministry of Education, stimulate students' interest in learning English, promote the overall improvement of college students' English level, and select and reward college students with excellent college English learning results.

Award level of NECCS exam:

There are four categories of grand prize, first prize, second prize and third prize and four national prize levels in this competition. The second prize and the third prize are generated through the preliminary competition, and are selected according to 15‰ and 30‰ of the participants in the preliminary competition. The grand prize and the first prize are produced through the finals and determined by the competition organizations of all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) according to the final results.

The total winning proportion is 5 1‰ of the participants in the preliminary competition, the grand prize 1‰, the first prize 5‰, the second prize 15‰ and the third prize 30‰. The number of participants is less than 167 but not less than 100. When calculating, keep it to one decimal place, and then select it according to the principle of rounding.
