Hunan Agricultural University is the leading construction unit of the National "20 1 1" Collaborative Innovation Center, a university jointly established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, the first batch of pilot construction units of the National New Rural Development Research Institute, and an "excellent" university evaluated by the Ministry of Education, a national civilized unit, a national civilized campus and a first-class university in Hunan Province. School started at 1903 10 8, where Zhou Zhenlin, Huang Xing, Xu Teli and Mao Zedong taught successively. 1951March, Hunan Agriculture and Forestry College, which was developed from minor schools, merged with Agricultural College of Hunan University to form Hunan Agricultural College. President Mao Zedong wrote the name of the school in his own handwriting. 1994 changed its name to Hunan Agricultural University in March.
