(1) Fermentation Project:
In the research and modeling of new high-efficiency bioreactor, he presided over the completion of a series of national key projects such as the Seventh Five-Year Plan and developed an industrial-scale airlift internal loop reactor, which not only reached the international leading level, but also had more than 50 applications in single cell protein production, baker's yeast culture, glycerol fermentation and so on. The academic achievements of research and development, structural optimization and amplification method of UASB reactor for anaerobic biological treatment of wastewater have been published in many international publications, and more than 10 industrial-scale devices (75- 1. 600 m3) have been built, which has contributed to the pollution control standards of industrial wastewater in Huaihe River Basin, Taihu Lake Basin and Yangtze River Basin.
In the study of optimization and control of fermentation process, the constant breeding technology and dynamic parameter evaluation method for screening industrial production strains were first studied in China, and successfully applied to the industrial production of single cell protein in alcohol wastewater. The optimal control strategy of fed-batch fermentation has not only completed many national scientific research projects and published a series of academic papers, but also been successfully applied to the industrial production of lysine (75M3 fermentor) and the fermentation production of degradable plastics, L- isoleucine and hyaluronic acid.
(2) Environmental bioengineering:
In the research of applied environmental anaerobic microbiology, the research on the efficient microbial mechanism of the second generation anaerobic reactor and the hydrogen transfer among anaerobic microbial particles has realized the controllability of granular sludge culture and achieved world-class results, which are used to guide the research of many national natural science foundation projects and the production and operation of industrial devices in China.
In the research of engineering technology for efficient treatment of organic wastewater, he led the completion of several projects to treat brewing wastewater and food additive production wastewater, and realized a new technology of efficient phased anaerobic treatment in engineering. At the same time, he led the basic research work on the application of biotechnology to biodegradable toxic compounds, with great innovation.
