Hebei University of Geology, located in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, is one of the five universities directly under the former Ministry of Geology. It is a key university in Hebei Province jointly established by the people of China, the Ministry of Natural Resources and the People's Government of Hebei Province.
Hebei Province has been built into a first-class university in China, with the project construction unit authorized by doctor's degree, the director unit of IULEE, and Li Tingdong, a geologist and academician of China Academy of Sciences, as the honorary president of the school.
The school was founded on 1953. Li Siguang and He Changgong chose Xuanhua City (now Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City), the ancient city beyond the Great Wall, to establish Xuanhua Geological School of the Ministry of Geology of the Central People's Government. 1955 was renamed Xuanhua Geological School of the Ministry of Geology.
