First of all, full-time adult education is a brand of on-the-job training in this school. Full-time adult education is developed on the basis of full-time adult education in Hunan Institute of Education. After the merger of the two universities, relying on the abundant teachers, scientific research strength and good teaching experimental equipment of full-time general education, the cultural professional quality and comprehensive quality of full-time adult education students have been significantly improved. Since 200 1, the admission rate of full-time adult students in this school has been maintained at around 10%, and 80% of them have been admitted to "2 1 1 engineering school". The one-time pass rate of full-time adult English major English test is close to 60%. Full-time adult students have won many awards in campus culture and art festivals, university sports meetings and other activities organized by the school. In 2006, the adult students of this school won the first place in the province. Secondly, full-time self-study is another highlight of school continuing education. The full-time self-taught students in this school are famous in the whole province for their many majors, large scale, high pass rate and standardized running. Thirdly, the school's continuing education has obvious normal characteristics. From the perspective of specialty setting, the adult education of the school covers all normal majors, and from the perspective of enrollment, nearly 50% of students come from the front line of primary and secondary education. Non-academic training is limited to the training of local (city) and county education administrative cadres and primary and secondary school teachers, which has obvious normal characteristics. The historical reason for this feature is that before the merger, both the former Normal University and the former Hunan Institute of Education had the history and tradition of teacher education. The former Normal University mainly focused on the pre-service training of middle school teachers in the province, while the former Hunan Institute of Education focused on the post-service training of middle school teachers in the province. After the merger of the two schools, the school put forward the idea of pre-service integration in time from the historical characteristics of the two schools, which accelerated the mutual reference, integration and promotion of pre-service education and post-service education, and made the school's continuing education show strong normal characteristics.
