School of Information Science and Engineering, Northeastern University, located in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, was established in June of 1996 10, which was jointly established by the then Department of Automatic Control and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The predecessor of information college and discipline can be traced back to the electrical engineering department at the beginning of the establishment of Old Northeastern University in the last century.

Control science and engineering is the first batch of first-class disciplines in China. The six disciplines are control theory and control engineering, computer application technology, system engineering, detection technology and automation device, pattern recognition and intelligent system, navigation guidance and control.
