All bachelor's degree courses in the School of Engineering (except Bachelor of Engineering (Engineering Science)) are recognized by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), and the professional qualifications of its engineers are also recognized by most countries, such as the United States, Britain, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Singapore and Southeast Asia, which greatly increase the employment opportunities of engineering graduates in the world.
The curriculum of the School of Engineering is flexible, and the course content meets the changing social needs, so that graduates can join different types of private and public institutions in the future, including consulting engineering companies, construction companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, facilities and property management companies, power companies and government public institutions, accounting and financial institutions, investment banks and government departments.
Since its establishment one hundred years ago, the College has been adhering to the motto of the University of Hong Kong and has trained a large number of outstanding internationally renowned engineers for Hong Kong and the world. At the same time, we have been committed to studying core disciplines and constantly expanding new academic fields.

Professor Zhang Youqi, an expert in computational mechanics and civil engineering. He used to be the vice-president of the University of Hong Kong, acting as the principal vice-president, and pioneered the study of structural mechanics, especially the finite element method of plates and shells. It is recognized as one of the pioneers of finite element method by academic circles. His research field covers many aspects of civil engineering and has won many awards. Including TelfordPremium of British Civil Engineering Association, Mature Structure Award of British Concrete Society, N.O.Myklestad of American Society of Mechanical Engineers, IACM Award of World Society of Computational Mechanics, Second Prize and Third Prize of National Natural Science. 1999 was elected as an academician of China Academy of Sciences.
Professor Chen Qingquan is a famous expert in the fields of motor, electric drive and electric vehicle, and is known as "the father of electric vehicles in Asia" and "the best technology pioneer in Asia". He used to be the head of the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Hong Kong, and is now an honorary professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Hong Kong. He is the first member of China Academy of Engineering from Hongkong. He is also an academician of the Royal Academy of Engineering and a part-time or honorary professor of many top international universities. The core and overall guiding ideology of electric vehicle research put forward by Professor Chen laid the foundation of modern electric vehicle science and formed a complete system from theory to practice.
