There was no name of national university in Qing Dynasty, and the name of "national university" began in the Republic of China. The first national university in the Republic of China was the National Peking University in 19 12. However, if the definition of "national university" in the Republic of China is pushed back to the Qing Dynasty, the university directly under the central government and mainly funded by the central government is a national university. According to this standard, Shi Jing University Hall (Peking University) is the first national university in China.
190 1 On August 29th, the Qing government ordered that, starting from 1902, after having obtained the provincial examination, the annual examination should be held, and the stereotyped writing procedure should not be used in Chinese political history and political art in various countries, and the examination for children of Wushu and the provincial examination of Wushu should be stopped. /kloc-In September, 2004, the Qing government issued a decree to promote learning: "Except for the university halls already established in the capital, all the academies in the provinces should be reorganized into university halls in the provincial capital, and all government departments should set up middle schools in Zhili and Hangzhou, and all counties should set up primary schools and more Mongolian schools." These are all state-owned universities.
In the history of China, universities officially named as "national" generally adopted the narrow concept of "national". The promulgation of 1922 "Ren Xu Academic System" and 1924 "National University Regulations" marked the transformation of modern university system design in China from imitation of Japan to imitation of the United States. Because the specialized independent colleges set up by local governments and a few public universities marked as "national" do not meet the requirements of national universities or are not recognized by the central government, they do not belong to this category.
