College was officially granted university status in 1995, becoming the seventh statutory university in Hong Kong. Later, the Open University of Hong Kong launched full-time courses for the first time in 20001and set up its own research institute.
Specializing in hotel, tourism, exhibition and cooking management, tourism retail and market management degree courses and professional training. The mission of the college is to become a higher education institution offering tourism and hotel courses with European characteristics, to train students with professional knowledge and skills not only for Hong Kong and Macao, but also for the Asia-Pacific region and even the world, and to play a leading role in the industry.
