University of Science and Technology Shanghai (hereinafter referred to as University of Science and Technology Shanghai) is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning jointly established by Shanghai Municipal People's Government and China Academy of Sciences. Located in the middle of Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park in Pudong New Area, Shanghai, the school is an important part of Zhangjiang Comprehensive National Science Center under construction. It is integrated with Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Source, National protein Scientific Research (Shanghai) Facility, Shanghai Institute of Advanced Studies, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Microsatellite Engineering Center, Shanghai Institute of Medicine, China Academy of Sciences and other national scientific facilities and research institutions, and is organically connected with the industry and investment circles of Zhangjiang High-tech Zone. The new campus of the school covers an area of about 900 mu, with a total construction area of about 700,000 square meters. The school trains undergraduates, master students, doctoral students and graduates with professional degrees. The size of the school students is planned to be 2,000 undergraduates and 4,000 postgraduates. The professional curriculum system and standards are in line with world-class universities, and international classic textbooks are selected. All undergraduates must choose mathematics, science, chemistry, biology and information to lay a solid foundation for science and engineering; Strengthen the education of Chinese civilization, world civilization and scientific and technological civilization, and attach importance to innovation and entrepreneurship education. The school is equipped with tutors for each undergraduate, providing students with guidance in many aspects, such as study and life, innovative practice and career planning. From 20 13 to 20 16, the school and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly recruited 1550 graduate students for four consecutive years. Aiming at the frontier fields such as materials science and technology, life science and technology, information science and technology, the school carries out teaching individual scientific research and team scientific research simultaneously around major goals, promotes the interdisciplinary integration, the integration of universities and national scientific research institutions, builds a complete innovation value chain driven by scientific and technological progress, and explores solutions based on scientific and technological innovation in view of a series of severe challenges faced by the country in the process of transformation and development.
