According to official website of Guizhou Normal University for Nationalities, Guizhou Normal University for Nationalities was founded on the basis of guizhou minzu university. It is a provincial full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education in May, 2003, and one of the key demonstration universities in Guizhou Province. It has been selected as the construction point of characteristic specialty in universities of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of education and training plan for outstanding legal talents in China, the first batch of education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents in China, and one of the first batch of' national model schools for standardization of language and writing' in China.
