The predecessor of the college is Wuwei Education College, which was established in 1985. Wuwei Vocational College was established with the approval of Gansu Provincial People's Government in 2003. It has merged Gansu Radio and TV University Wuwei Branch, Wuwei Finance and Trade School, Wuwei Normal School, Wuwei Tourism Vocational Secondary School and Wuwei Health School.

School teaching staff

As of July, 20021year, the school has 863 teaching staff (including staff of affiliated Chinese medicine hospitals) and 638 full-time teachers, including 32 professors, associate professors 197, masters or above 160, Gansu famous teachers 16 and 5 Chinese medicine practitioners.

There are five provincial "Garden Awards", five municipal "Garden Awards" 10, one ideological and political teaching team of the Ministry of Education 1 0, and one Gansu Young Teacher Talent Award 12. A resource pool of 400 part-time teachers has been established, and 283 part-time teachers have been hired.
