The old eighth floor was adjusted by national universities in 1952, and basically formed according to the layout of southeast and northwest: Northeast: Harbin Institute of Architecture and Engineering (separated from Harbin Institute of Technology, later renamed Harbin Jianzhu University, now Harbin Institute of Technology)

North China: Tsinghua University, Tianjin University.

East China: Nanjing Institute of Technology (Southeast University), Tongji University

Northwest: Xi Institute of Architecture and Engineering (named after 1956, now Xi University of Architecture and Technology)

Southwest: Chongqing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture (chongqing jianzhu university, now incorporated into Chongqing University)

South China: South China University of Technology

First place, Tsinghua University; Second place, Tongji University; Third place, Southeast University; Fourth place, Tianjin University fifth place, Chongqing University; Sixth place, Harbin Institute of Technology; Seventh place, Xi University of Architecture and Technology; Eighth place, South China University of Technology

Now the architectural circle has put forward the "New Eight Schools". According to the architectural ranking, the new eight schools are Zhejiang University, Hunan University, shenyang jianzhu university, Dalian University of Technology, Kunming University of Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Nanjing University.
