University of South China (hereinafter referred to as Nanhua), located in Hengyang City, Hunan Province, was founded in 1958. It is jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, China National Nuclear Corporation, China Nuclear Industry Construction Group Corporation and Hunan Provincial People's Government, covering philosophy, economics, law, literature, art, science, engineering, medicine and management.
July 20 14 official website introduced that the school covers an area of more than 3,000 mu and has more than 37,000 students, including more than 33,000 full-time undergraduates and more than 4,000 doctoral and master students. There are more than 2,300 faculty members, including more than 350 professors and more than 800 associate professors. The school has 26 directly affiliated colleges, 4 directly affiliated national 3A hospitals and 13 cooperative affiliated hospitals. There are 73 undergraduate majors, with the right to award doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees.
