Guizhou Medical University, formerly known as "National Guiyang Medical College", was founded in 1938 and was one of the first nine medical colleges directly under the Ministry of Education at that time. The first dean was Professor Li Zongen, an early tropical expert and medical educator of Peking Union Medical College.

Guizhou minzu university was established in May 2007, and it belongs to the Guizhou Provincial People's Government. It is one of the earliest universities for nationalities founded in New China, a key university in Guizhou Province, a university founded by the people's government of Guizhou Province and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, and a university with a scholarship from the China government to train international students in China.
5. Guizhou Normal University
The predecessor of Guizhou Normal University, National Guiyang Teachers College, was founded in 194 1, which was one of the only eight national teachers colleges in China at that time. 1950 10 was renamed "Guiyang Normal University"; 1956 was officially handed over to the people's government of Guizhou province by the Ministry of Education of China; 1985 was renamed as "Guizhou Normal University", and 1996 was identified as a provincial key university by Guizhou Provincial People's Government.
