The competition time varies according to different events, from the shortest one shot in 3 seconds, five shots in 4 seconds to the longest 60 shots in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Paper targets or electronic targets can be used in the qualifiers, and electronic targets designated by ISSF must be used in the finals. When the event and shooting distance are different, the size of the target is different.
Rifle shooters shoot with their hands in a prone position, a standing position or a kneeling position according to different events. Pistol shooters must stand and shoot with one arm; Moving targets and UFO shooters shoot with standing hands and guns. Men's events usually shoot more bullets than women's events
Shooters in rifle and moving target events can wear special shooting clothes with hardness and thickness specified by rules; Shooters in pistol and UFO events can only wear ordinary clothes.
The caliber of competition guns: air gun 4.5 mm, small caliber gun 5.6 mm, large caliber pistol 7.62 ~ 9.65mm；; Flying saucers use 12 caliber shotguns. Small caliber guns use the edge to fire bullets, large caliber guns use the center to fire bullets, and the projectile weight of UFO bullets shall not exceed 24.5 grams.
Electronic target system: Electronic target consists of target, display and scoring system. The electronic target adopts the principle of acoustic wave induction. When the bullet hits the target surface, it will make a sound. The acoustic sensor on the target receives these acoustic waves, calculates the time of receiving the acoustic waves through its own system software, and then converts them into distance data, thus determining and displaying the position and ring value of the bullet hole on the target on the display. The electronic target final adopts the decimal point ring value, and the same ring value is divided into 10 equal parts as the ring value after the decimal point. At the same ring value, the decimal point ring value of the bullet hole near the bull's eye is high, such as 10.9, 10.8, 10.7, etc.
