Xinjiang Agricultural University is located at No.311,Agricultural University East Road, Urumqi. The key agricultural colleges and universities in the autonomous region, formerly known as Xinjiang Bayi Agricultural Reclamation College, were founded by General Wang Zhen in 1952 with the consent of president and the Central Military Commission. It is the first undergraduate school after the founding of New China.

Agricultural University Community Neighborhood Committee was established in August, 20001,and is now located in the courtyard of No.3 Agricultural East Road11police station in Urumqi, with Xinjiang Agricultural University as the center.
