Because Shiyuan College of Guangxi Normal University is the second batch of undergraduate enrollment in Guangdong, we usually say that Shiyuan College of Guangxi Normal University is two colleges.

Nanning Normal University is located in Yangming Industrial Zone, Jiangnan District, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, near Nanning Wuxu International Airport, about 30 kilometers away from Jiangnan Bus Terminal in the city. There are Guangxi Vocational and Technical College and Guangxi Performing Arts Vocational College nearby. The college now covers a total area of 330 mu, with a total construction area of 220,000 square meters. It is divided into teaching, sports, art, administration, logistics, life and other functional areas, and is designed according to the concepts of modernization, gardening, ecology and human culture. Education, teaching and living facilities are complete, with 9833 undergraduates. The college was rated as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Health School and Nanning Patriotic Health Advanced Unit in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. There are national forest parks around the campus-Liangfengjiang Park and Dawangtan Reservoir, and colleges and universities include Guangxi Vocational and Technical College and Guangxi Performing Arts Vocational College.

Guangxi Normal University Teachers College is commonly known as Nanning Normal University Teachers College. Approved by Guangxi Education Department in April 2002 and reconfirmed by the Ministry of Education in February 2004, Nanning Normal University established the second batch of B-class comprehensive universities.
