School introduction
Chang 'an University was formed on April 6th, 2000 by the merger of Xi 'an Highway Jiaotong University, Xi 'an Engineering College and Northwest Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture. Its historical evolution includes the development of three universities.
195 1 year, when the Republic of China was founded, everything was in full swing. A group of pioneers in New China, with the ideal of "smooth traffic and smooth goods", founded Northwest Jiaotong School on a barren beach in the suburbs of Lanzhou, laying the first cornerstone of Chang 'an University.
1953, Xi 'an Geological School of the Geological Department of the Central People's Government and Xi 'an Architectural Engineering School of the Architectural Engineering Department of the Central People's Government were established one after another. 1952, Northwest Jiaotong School moved eastward to Xi 'an and was renamed Xi 'an Highway School. 1955, renamed Xi 'an Automobile Machinery School of the Ministry of Communications again. 1958, * * * and China ushered in the first climax of socialist construction. The state transferred the teachers and equipment of the Preparatory Committee of Beijing Highway College to Xi 'an, and established Xi 'an Highway College on the basis of Xi 'an Automobile Machinery School of the Ministry of Communications, becoming the first institution of higher learning in Asia specializing in cultivating senior talents in highway transportation, which is also the first milestone in the development history of the school. In the 1960s and 1970s, the three schools experienced ups and downs, but with the firm belief of building the motherland, taking root in the west and contributing to the society, teachers and students worked hard to cultivate a batch of infrastructure talents for the country. At the same time, the school has also undertaken the task of foreign aid construction and education, and trained a large number of international students for developing countries.
On April 18, 2000, Xi 'an Highway Jiaotong University, Xi 'an Engineering College and Northwest Institute of Architecture and Engineering merged to form Chang 'an University, which was placed under the management of the Ministry of Education, creating a new era of school development and construction. Schools seize the opportunity, follow the trend, be scientifically responsible for teaching, scientific research, management, discipline construction and team building, and actively play the three functions of cultivating talents, scientific research and serving the society. The strength of running a school has been continuously enhanced, the level of running a school has been steadily improved, the external influence has been continuously expanded, and various undertakings have developed rapidly.
