Cross-language, cross-culture and interdisciplinary are the outstanding features of the master's degree program of the center. Students will quickly improve their ability to discuss problems in the target language (English for China students and Chinese for international students) in a cross-language environment. China students are taught in English by American professors, while international students are taught Chinese by China. Students can also take a small number of mother tongue courses, which is of unique significance for students to understand problems from different cultures and perspectives. In two years, the project has provided nearly 70 courses for students, covering all important fields in six professional directions. Students must take at least 9 courses in the target language. All courses will provide students with key academic documents in this field and provide diversified and international perspectives for the main problems in the course.

The center often invites politicians and famous scholars at home and abroad to give lectures. Famous politicians and scholars who have given lectures in the Center include President Wan Li, former US President George H.W. Bush, former Secretary of State Kissinger, Ambassador to China Gary Locke, former director of the American Institute of China Academy of Social Sciences Zi Zhongyun, and famous professor Fu Gaoyi of Harvard University. Employment has always been a major advantage for graduates of "Center". According to the statistics of Nanjing University, the employment rate of "Center" students has been 100% for many years, and the starting salary of employment is among the best. The Employment Office of China-US Center provides students with comprehensive one-on-one job-seeking consultation and training. Students can enjoy the employment resources of Nanjing University and Hopkins University, including vocational ability test, resume counseling and interview skills training. The "Center" also has a sound alumni network, and alumni provide many opportunities for internal recommendation. "Career Development Day" is one of the most distinctive activities of the center. Leading figures from all walks of life and fields communicate face-to-face with the students in the center, giving them the most intuitive and true experience introduction.

In recent years, the graduation destinations of "Center" graduates include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, Shenzhen Stock Exchange, Xinhua News Agency, Global Times, Jiefang Daily, Financial Magazine, new york Times, JPMorgan Chase Company, Morgan Stanley Company, L 'Oré al (China) Company, Accenture China Co., Ltd., Nelson (China), Bank of Communications, China Construction Bank, China Bank, Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank and Deloitte & Touche. Some students went abroad for further study, including Harvard University, Oxford University, Cambridge University, Stanford University, Hopkins University and University of California. The discipline is classified as law, and the major is international relations. This major is an interdisciplinary study of international issues, covering six major directions: international politics, international economy, comparison and international law, China studies, American studies, energy, resources and environment.

Students can take the postgraduate entrance examination in four directions: international politics, international economy, comparison and international law, energy resources and environment. After entering the center, students can re-select their majors according to their interests and abilities.

educational system

The program enrolls 50 Chinese and foreign students every year (25 from China and 25 from international students). The academic system is 2 years, divided into 4 semesters, and full-time full-time study.

degree

After completing the course and thesis defense, students can obtain the master's degree certificate and graduation certificate of Nanjing University and the joint master's degree certificate jointly issued by the presidents of China and the United States. This certificate has the same effect as other master's degree certificates issued by Nanjing University and Hopkins University. The center recruits 25 students (including fresh graduates) with excellent university performance and bachelor's degree every year.

There are two ways to apply for the master's program in this center:

1. Students who meet the exemption conditions recommended by their institutions can apply for recommendation.

2. Non-exempt students must take the national unified postgraduate entrance examination.

All students must pass the re-examination of the China-US Center. The second interview will comprehensively examine the comprehensive quality of candidates and their ability to use English for course study and academic exchange. All students must provide TOEFL ibt 100 or IELTS 7.

Tuition and scholarships

1. The tuition fee for the master program is 44,000 yuan/year, and the accommodation fee is 8,000 yuan/year.

2. Nantah Chinese-American Cultural Scholarship: 26,000 yuan/year/person, which is automatically obtained by the admitted students and used to reduce tuition and accommodation fees. After the reduction, the actual tuition and accommodation fee is 26,000 yuan/year/person.

3. All students will receive academic scholarships ranging from 6000- 1 10,000 yuan awarded by Nanjing University every year.

4. Postgraduates with excellent academic performance can apply for national scholarships (20,000 yuan/person) and various special scholarships.
