Tsinghua University (Tsinghua for short) was born in 19 1 1. It was established on the basis of the "boxer indemnity" returned by the United States, named after Tsinghua Campus, and located in the northwest suburb of Beijing. Formerly known as "Tsinghua School", it was a preparatory school for studying in the United States founded by the Qing government. The following year, it was renamed "Tsinghua School".
