San Juan is the capital, economic and cultural center of Puerto Rico. It is located in San Juan Bay on the northeast coast of Puerto Rico and is the largest port on the island. With a wide mouth and a narrow mouth, the port is an important maritime transportation hub between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
The city was founded in 1508, and the original Indians called it Poliken. 152/kloc-0 was occupied by Spanish colonist J. Pang Sai Delane in and built a city on an island at the entrance of the bay, which means "the port of wealth" in Spanish.
Urban planning of San Juan;
San Juan New Town is located on the north shore of Puerto Rico's main island. Skyscrapers can be seen everywhere in this city. The main commercial street is Ponce de Leon Street in Santurce.
There are modern shops and bank buildings here. The Federal Building, the ancient sacred heart university, the Tropical Medical College, some colleges of the University of Puerto Rico and the Carnegie Library are all located in the new town. Kangdado Beach and many other excellent beaches, such as Boca de Chinlo and Rejos, are good places for winter tourism.
