East China University of Science and Technology is a national key university with scientific and technological characteristics directly under the people of China and the Ministry of Education. It covers science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, law, management, philosophy, economy, literature, history, education, art and other disciplines 12, and is a national "21/project" and "985 project".
East China University of Science and Technology, formerly known as East China Institute of Chemical Technology, was formed by the merger of former Jiaotong University (Shanghai), Aurora University, Datong University, Soochow University and the Department of Chemical Engineering of Jiangnan University in 1952, and now it is renamed in February 1993.
As of 20 14, the school has three campuses, Xuhui, Fengxian and Jinshan Science Park, covering an area of 2,653 mu, with nearly 24,800 full-time students.
