Who is the chief culprit of Anshi Rebellion?
An Lushan, Shi Siming, An Qingxu and Shi Chaoyi were the chief culprits of the Anshi Rebellion. There are many reasons for the Anshi Rebellion, which is a concentrated reflection of various social contradictions, including the contradiction between the ruling class and the people, the contradiction within the rulers and the contradiction between the central and local separatist forces.

The essence of An Shi Rebellion is the struggle for power and interests within the ruling class, more specifically, it is the contradictory struggle between the central government and local separatist forces in the Tang Dynasty. Although the leaders of the Anshi Rebellion took advantage of the people's resistance to the Tang Dynasty and ethnic contradictions, it did not affect the fundamental nature of the rebellion.

On the other hand, in the war, due to the atrocities committed by the Anshi Rebellion against the people, there were resistance struggles such as Yan Gaoqing, Changshan satrap Yan Zhenqing and Pingyuan satrap Zhang Xun. These local struggles against tyranny are just, but they cannot change the nature of the whole war at all.
