Art students from the School of Foreign Languages of Shenzhen University are not allowed to take the exam. The School of Foreign Languages of Shenzhen University was established in 2006. Its predecessor was the Foreign Languages Department established by 1983 aided by Peking University. The college has five undergraduate majors: English, Japanese, French, German and Spanish.

At present, the college has 1 first-class disciplines of foreign languages and literature (key disciplines in Guangdong Province) and 4 master's programs in disciplines. The college has two research institutions, namely, the Institute of Western Culture, the Language Testing and Evaluation Center, the Dutch Research Center, the East Asian Research Center and the Poetry and Drama Research Center. In addition, two provincial teaching teams are building provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers.
