Introduction to the extended information of Southwest Petroleum University;

Southwest Petroleum University is the second petroleum undergraduate college established in New China. It is an institution of higher learning funded by the central and local governments and mainly managed by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government. In 20 13, the school was selected as the "Basic Capacity Building Project of Universities in the Midwest of China" 100. 2065438+September 2007 was selected as the first batch of "double first-class" world-class discipline construction universities in China.

1March, 958, three exploratory wells located in Dongguan, Guang 'an, Vu Thang, Suining and Nanchong Daying spewed high-yield oil, which shook the whole country. General Yu, Minister of Petroleum Industry, sat in Nanchong, and started the general war of PetroChina in Sichuan.

In order to speed up the development of oil and gas resources in Sichuan and train technical cadres for the development of oil and gas industry in Southwest Cooperation Zone, the state has decided to establish the second petroleum university, which is located in Nanchong, an important town in northern Sichuan and the headquarters of Sichuan Petroleum Battle.

After more than 60 years of construction, the school has now developed into an industry-oriented, multi-disciplinary coordinated development, outstanding oil and gas advantages, distinctive features, and the main disciplines of petroleum are at the leading level in the country.

The school has 19 teaching colleges (departments) and 1 engineering training center. The disciplines cover eight disciplines, including science, engineering, management, economics, literature, law, education and art, and there are 75 undergraduate majors with enrollment qualifications (including 69 undergraduate enrollment majors in 20 19 years).

There are 8 national specialty construction sites, 16 Sichuan specialty, 1 national college students' cultural quality education base,1/Sichuan undergraduate talent training base. There are 5 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees, 29 disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees in two disciplines and 20 disciplines authorized by master's degrees in first-class disciplines.

There are 88 master's degree authorized disciplines in two disciplines, 12 master's degree categories (including electronic information, machinery, materials and chemicals, resources and environment, energy and power, civil water conservancy, MBA, master of translation, master of engineering management, master of law, master of social work and master of applied statistics), and 8 university teachers are studying master's degree authorized disciplines.
