Huaqiao University is headquartered in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, directly under the leadership of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee. It is a university directly under the central government approved by the Prime Minister himself. It is a comprehensive university jointly established by the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee, the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Fujian Province, and has been designated as a "national key university" by the Central Committee.
