The admission scores of the first entrance examination for postgraduate entrance examination are uniformly stipulated by the state. After the results of the postgraduate entrance examination come out every year, the state will announce the national line of the postgraduate entrance examination that year. If the candidates' single subject scores and total scores reach the national line, they will pass the preliminary examination of postgraduate entrance examination.

Chongqing Medical University was founded in 1956 and moved from Shanghai First Medical College (now Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University) to Chongqing. Its original name was Chongqing Medical College, and 1985 was renamed Chongqing Medical University. The school is the first batch of units with the right to award doctoral and master's degrees approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee and the first batch of demonstration bases for studying in China approved by the Ministry of Education.
