It is a multi-disciplinary university jointly funded by the central and local governments, focusing on local management and coordinating the development of science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, literature, law, economics and management. In April 2003, the school was formed by the merger of Hebei Institute of Architecture and Technology, Handan Branch of North China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower, Handan Medical College and Handan Agricultural College. In February 2006, the Ministry of Education officially approved the renaming of Hebei Institute of Engineering as Hebei University of Engineering.

Handan College was founded in 1945 as Handan Middle School in southern Hebei Province, renamed as Hebei Teachers College in 1950, and upgraded to Handan Teachers College in 1982. It was approved by the provincial and municipal governments in 5438+0 in 2006, and was formerly known as Handan Teachers College, Handan No.1 and No.2 Education College, and Municipal Kindergarten Teachers College. In May 2004, 17 was approved by the Ministry of Education and transformed into an undergraduate college.

Founded in 1983, it is a full-time comprehensive university approved by the Hebei provincial government and filed by the Ministry of Education. At the beginning of 1987, the college was approved by UNESCO as the APEID contact center, becoming the only local institution of higher learning among the six APEID contact centers in China, and the library building was designated as one of the collection points by UNESCO. Our college has established sister schools with Munich College in Germany and Changpan University in Japan, and can exchange international students. 1997 was approved by the Hebei provincial government and reported to the state education commission for approval as one of the 15 national demonstration vocational universities. In the same year, it was approved as the national computer grade examination center by the examination center of the Ministry of Education. 1997, according to the instructions of Li Lanqing, Vice Premier of the State Council, and with the approval of the State Education Commission, Handan University was renamed as Handan Vocational and Technical College.
