In teaching, the course group of "Public Diplomacy+"is established, and special courses such as public diplomacy and cross-cultural communication, China traditional culture and Hainan regional culture are offered, aiming at cultivating foreign language talents with solid foreign language foundation, cross-cultural communication ability and multicultural literacy; In scientific research, relying on the Boao Forum for Asia, we focus on cross-cultural communication and the image of China, Hainan foreign language literature, overseas public opinion and other fields, aiming at helping the construction of Hainan Free Trade Zone (Hongkong) and telling the story of China and Hainan well.

College English is a provincial-level excellent course, basic English and advanced English are school-level excellent courses, and English language and literature is a key subject of Hainan University.

At present, the college has an academic and a professional master's degree, namely, a master's degree in English language and literature and translation. English language and literature includes language and literature. The master of translation includes three directions: English interpretation, English translation and Japanese translation.
