Universities and communities
Many people who don't know about community colleges in China will have the wrong idea that community colleges are equivalent to junior colleges, but in fact there are substantial differences between them.

1: Domestic students usually fail in the college entrance examination or take practical courses, but American community colleges offer transfer courses in addition to practical vocational courses. Transfer courses are specially designed for students who want to continue to apply for 4-year universities. Students can take two years of basic courses (freshmen and sophomores) before attending community colleges, and the credits they have taken are recognized by four-year universities.

Students who have finished junior college in China must take the examination of undergraduate colleges if they want to continue their undergraduate studies, while in American community colleges, they can study directly for the remaining three or four years if they provide their usual grades.

2. The diplomas obtained are different.

When a domestic junior college is upgraded to an undergraduate course, the diploma obtained will be marked as "junior college", while the degree certificate obtained by students who transfer to a comprehensive university is no different from that obtained by graduates who directly enter a four-year university.

Therefore, according to the above description, this student can clearly see the advantages of community college: giving students who failed in the college entrance examination a buffer period and an opportunity to enter a famous university. Many students in America use community colleges as a springboard.

Of course, the premise is that you must study hard these two years. After all, you still need to have a high GPA as the basic prerequisite for entering a four-year university.

So there is no worthless education.
