Rongcheng Campus of Harbin University of Science and Technology is one of the four campuses in harbin university of science and technology: West Campus, South Campus, East Campus and Rongcheng Campus. It is under the direct leadership and unified management of harbin university of science and technology in enrollment, teaching, training mode, management mode, cadre appointment, teacher allocation, graduation and employment.

In 2006, with the approval of the people's governments of Heilongjiang Province and Shandong Province, harbin university of science and technology cooperated with the Rongcheng Municipal Government of Shandong Province to establish the Rongcheng Campus of Harbin University of Science and Technology, and officially enrolled students in 2008.

Rongcheng Campus of Harbin University of Science and Technology is located in Rongcheng City, Weihai City, Shandong Province, a coastal city of Jiaodong Peninsula, with a campus area of 730 mu and a construction area of 250,000 square meters. At present, there are 282 full-time teachers and 40 teachers with associate higher vocational education or above.

Harbin university of science and technology, referred to as Harbin Institute of Technology. Harbin university of science and technology was formed by the merger of harbin university of science and technology, Harbin Institute of Electrical Engineering and Harbin Institute of Technology under the former Ministry of Machinery Industry in 1995. 1998 was placed in Heilongjiang province, and the management system was mainly central and local.

The first three schools were founded in the 1950s. After more than 60 years of development, the school has now become a teaching and research university with strong school-running strength and distinctive characteristics, based on work, combining science with engineering, and coordinated development of economy, management, philosophy, literature, law, education and art.
