Weifang College was formerly known as Shandong Bohai College of Continuing Education. Bohai university was not founded in Weifang, but was formed by the merger of Jinzhou Normal University and Liaoning Business School in April 2000. The school is tentatively named Jinzhou Normal College. In April 2003, Jinzhou Teachers College was renamed bohai university.

Bohai university, referred to as Boda for short, is located in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, a famous historical and cultural city on the coast of Bohai Sea. It is a comprehensive university organized by Liaoning provincial government. By the end of 20 19, there were seven secondary colleges 17, eight master's degree programs 18 and seven professional master's degree programs. There are 46 undergraduate enrollment majors, covering economics, law, teaching, literature, history, philosophy, science, engineering, agriculture, management, art and so on. It is an ordinary undergraduate college.
