Southwest University of Science and Technology is located at No.59, Middle Section of Qinglong Avenue, Fucheng District, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province.

Southwest University of Science and Technology, referred to as "Southwest University of Science and Technology" for short, is located in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, China Science and Technology City, and is jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government.

It is one of the key universities in western China 14, and one of the designated universities for comprehensive innovation and reform in Sichuan Province. It was selected into the national "Basic Capacity Building Project of Colleges and Universities in the Midwest" and the "Double First-class" construction plan of Sichuan Province.

Historical evolution:

1939, Jiangjinyao Technical School. From 65438 to 0949, Jiangjinyao Technical School was renamed Jiangjinyao Technical School in East Sichuan (under the Culture and Education Department of Southwest Military and Political Committee). 1950 Jiangjinyao Technical School in East Sichuan was renamed as the cadre school of Southwest Ministry of Industry (the subordinate relationship is the same as above). The cadre school of Southwest Ministry of Industry was renamed Southwest Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture (as above).

1952, Southwest Architectural Engineering School and Chongqing No.1 Civil Engineering School merged to form Chongqing Architectural Engineering School (the affiliation is the same as above). 65438-0958, Chongqing Architectural Engineering School was upgraded to Chongqing Institute of Building Materials (under the Central Department of Architectural Engineering).

1962, the name of the school was changed to Chongqing Building Materials Industry School (under the Central Construction Engineering Department).

The campus of Southwest University of Science and Technology now covers an area of 5,463 mu, with beautiful environment and perfect facilities, which is a good place for studying. The school has an existing building area of 1 1.9 million square meters, total fixed assets of 2.5 billion yuan, and the value of teaching and research instruments and equipment reaches 828 million yuan.
