Nyu shanghai (English: NYU Shanghai), referred to as Shanghai University for short, is a research university with independent legal person status established by new york University in the United States and East China Normal University, a famous institution of higher learning in China, and is a member of the Sino-foreign cooperative university alliance.

The school was established on 201101kloc-0/065438+9. It is jointly run by new york University and East China Normal University. It is also the first Sino-US cooperative university with independent legal personality jointly established by a world-class university and 1985 State Key Engineering University East China Normal University.

Together with NYU Abu Dahbi of new york University and NYU new york Campus of new york University, it forms three portal campuses of new york University with the right to confer degrees in the global system.

20 1 1 On March 28th, nyu shanghai officially laid the foundation stone in Lujiazui, and started a new attempt in higher education. The school was formally established on August 5, 20 12. On August 20 13, the first batch of undergraduates officially entered the campus and began their college life. On August 20 14, the Pudong campus at No.555, century avenue/kloc-0 officially opened.
