Chongqing Normal University was founded in 1954, and its school-running history can be traced back to the official East Sichuan Normal School founded in 1906. The school is a multidisciplinary institution of higher learning with arts and sciences as the mainstay and coordinated development. Located in Chongqing, a famous historical and cultural city, with a campus area of 2804 mu, including University Town Campus, Shapingba Campus and Beibei Campus. The school is a national model unit for greening, a model school for running schools according to law in Chongqing, a civilized unit in Chongqing, an advanced collective for moral education in Chongqing, a garden-style unit in Chongqing, a top ten clean unit in Chongqing and a forest campus in Chongqing.
