Dame jessica rawson is a British archaeologist and sinologist. At present, he is the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University (2006-), the Dean of Merton College of Oxford University (1994-), the Professor of Art and Archaeology of China (2000-), and an academician of the British Academy of Sciences. Professor Rosen 1943 was born in England, graduated from Cambridge University and School of Asian and African Studies of University of London, and served as the acting director and director of the Oriental Department of the British Museum in 1976- 1994, and was a member of the board of directors of the British Library. 1994 was elected dean of Merton College, Oxford University, becoming the first female dean of the college since its establishment more than 700 years ago. In 2002, she was awarded the female commander medal of the British Empire for her contribution to the study of Orientalism. Professor Rosen's academic research field is China art and archaeology, especially Shang and Zhou bronzes and Han tombs.
