Jin Yamei (1864— 1934), female, also known as Mei Yun, was born in Jinjia Village, Baoqiao Town, Xu Mei, Yinxian County, Zhejiang Province. His father is a Jesuit Presbyterian minister. At the age of 3, she lost her parents and was adopted by her father's friend, Presbyterian doctor and the first American consul in Nanjing, Dr. Devi Bethune Divie Bethune McCartee. Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty for eight years (1869), went to Japan to study with his adoptive father. Guangxu seven years (188 1), graduated from middle school and entered the Women's Medical University affiliated to new york Hospital. She is the first female student in China to study in China. Four years later, he graduated first, and then worked in hospitals in new york, Florida and Washington. He is good at microscopes, and he often publishes articles in new york medical journals, which is quite famous. After returning to China for 14 years, he has worked in hospitals in Xiamen, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Beijing. He has profound medical skills and many doctors. In thirty-four years, with the support of Yuan Shikai, he founded a medical college in Tianjin, devoted himself to medical education, and served as the president of Tianjin Women's Hospital for eight years.
