Computer application technology is one of the first-class disciplines of computer science and technology. Computer application technology, as one of the basic disciplines of information technology industry, has broad application fields and development prospects. This major involves computer, network technology, database technology, numerical simulation and imaging, image processing, automation, instrumentation and manufacturing information, embedded systems and other disciplines, and mainly trains senior professionals engaged in various computer application research, development and design. The main research directions of this major are computer network technology, computer numerical simulation and imaging, manufacturing information technology, image processing and pattern recognition, database application technology and so on.

There are 7 professors (2 doctoral supervisors) and 5 associate professors/kloc-0. Among them, there are 10 people with doctoral degrees. Completed more than 20 national, provincial and ministerial-level projects and military pre-research projects, and published more than 200 academic papers (including more than 30 included in SCI, EI and ISTP), 2 monographs and textbooks 12 volumes in professional journals at home and abroad. Won the first prize 1 and the third prize 1 of Guangxi Science and Technology Progress, the third prize 1 of Guangxi Computer Application Achievement Promotion, applied for 2 national patents, and awarded the national invention patent 1.

software engineering

"Software engineering" is a discipline that studies the construction and maintenance of effective, practical and high-quality software by engineering method. Based on computer science and technology, this discipline emphasizes the engineering nature of software development and pays attention to cultivating senior professionals who can engage in the research, development and application of computer software. This subject has the research directions of embedded software, enterprise computing, semantic information processing, engineering software and other disciplines.

The discipline has teaching and research platforms such as Embedded System and Intelligent Information Processing, Engineering Training Center, Guangxi Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center and Guilin Manufacturing Informatization Promotion and Application Center.
