Phffft! (1954) In addition to Wilder, Lemmon has a collaborator named Walter Marceau, who is also a comedian. The three of them began to form a partnership from the Happy Chef of 1966. Wilder directed the Mirror, while Lemmon and Marceau always played completely different roles in personality, temper and experience, and sometimes they were at odds with each other. For example, in Strange Couples (1970), Lemon plays a housewife who is busy all day, while Marceau plays a husband who only reaches out for food. A series of jokes in the whole movie all stem from the comedy conflict between them. Due to long-term cooperation, the three of them are close. They live together whenever a new film is started. When they had a good idea in the middle of the night, they immediately woke up the other two and ran to the typewriter together to discuss and record, sometimes until dawn. Therefore, American colleagues call them "wonderful partners".
