1, University of South China

South China University was formed by the merger of Central South Institute of Technology and Hengyang Medical College in March 2000. In June 2002, the Sixth Institute of Nuclear Industry merged. The predecessor of Central South Institute of Technology is Hengyang Mining and Metallurgy Engineering College founded by 1959, and the predecessor of Hengyang Medical College is Hengyang Medical College of Hunan Province founded by 1958.

The school is jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the National Health and Wellness Commission, the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, China National Nuclear Corporation and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. It is a first-class university construction university in Hunan Province and a key university supported by the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of China.

In the long-term course of running a school, the school has formed distinct "nuclear characteristics", "medical brand" and "environmental advantages". It is a comprehensive university with engineering and medicine as the mainstay and nine disciplines, such as philosophy, economics, law, literature, science, management and art, developing in a coordinated way.

There are 25 directly affiliated colleges, 8 directly affiliated hospitals and 23 cooperative postgraduate training units. 72 undergraduate majors; There are 26 master's authorization points in the first-level discipline, with 9 master's authorization categories/kloc-0; There are 5 authorized points for doctoral degrees in first-level disciplines; There are three post-doctoral research stations in the first-level discipline.

The school recruits students from all over the country (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) and some countries and regions. There are 36,277 full-time undergraduates, 65 doctoral and master students, and 465 international students.

2. Hengyang City

Hengyang City is located in the south-central part of Hunan Province, in the middle and lower reaches of Xiangjiang River.
