Qu Xixian, a famous female composer in China, died today at the age of 89. Now I present a chorus composed by Qu Xixian, The Proletarians of the World Unite (some people say it is the second international song), in memory of the first female composer in New China.

Qu Xixian's Life (19 19-2008)

Shanghainese. I like music since I was a child. 1944 graduated from the English Department of St. John's University, and 1946 joined the China * * * Production Party. 1948 graduated from the composition department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He used to be a lecturer at Beiping Art College. He studied under Frank (a German professor) and Professor Tan Xiaolin. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he worked in the Music Art Troupe of the Central Conservatory of Music and the Creative Group of the Central Orchestra for a long time. He worked as a composer in the Central Conservatory of Music and the Music Working Group of the Central Orchestra, and served as the first to third director and the fourth vice chairman of the China Musicians Association. Consultant of China Film Music Society and Honorary President of Children's Music Society of China Musicians Association.

His works are mainly in the field of vocal music, including chorus, solo, mass songs, children's songs and so on. His works include Pastoral by cappella, Chorus of Red Army Base Area, etc. The song "People all over the world unite" won the first prize in the third World Youth and Student Song Competition. The chorus "The Proletarians of the World Unite" won the first prize of 1964 national popular song, and the children's song "Listening to Mom's Past Story" won the first prize of the second national children's literature creation award. The song "New Long March, New Battle" was rated as an excellent mass song on 1980. Other chorus works with wide influence include: Flying Petals, Wusuli Boat Songs and so on. Movie music such as Song of Youth, Red Flag Spectrum, For Peace, Death of Marshal, Camel Xiangzi, etc. She also translated and published the book Principles of Orchestral Law by Rimsky-Korsakov. 198 1 year, her works and those of other China female composers were exhibited at the Italian Women's Music Festival. 1990 held a solo concert in Beijing.
