Zhengzhou University Institute of Physical Education is an institution, and Zheng Da Institute of Physical Education is the only higher physical education institution in Henan Province. The provincial sports bureau is in charge, and the business work is led by the provincial education department.

The School of Physical Education of Zhengzhou University, formerly known as Henan Institute of Physical Education, was founded in 1958 and closed on 1962 due to national economic difficulties. 1984, Henan Institute of Sports Technology; 1992 was merged into Zhengzhou University and renamed as Physical Education College of Zhengzhou University (with independent legal personality).
