The school was founded in 193 1 1, formerly known as the Second and Third Military Commission Engineering Schools and the Northeast Democratic Coalition Surveying and Mapping School; It was formed by merging the former China People's Liberation Army Information Engineering College, China People's Liberation Army Surveying and Mapping College, China People's Liberation Army Electronic Technology College and Chinese People's Liberation Army Foreign Languages College.
By September 2020, the school covers an area of nearly 8,000 mu and has established a discipline and professional system integrating science, engineering, military, literature and management.
