Tokyouniversityofthearts (Japanese hiragana: とぅきょぅげぃじゅつだぃがく) is a short name.
Its predecessor was Tokyo Fine Arts School and Tokyo Music School, which were founded in 1887 respectively, and the two schools merged into the new Tokyo University of Arts in 1949. The main purpose of Tokyo University of the Arts is to train artists in the fields of fine arts and music. Among them, the Music Department has trained many famous composers, performers and conductors, and the Fine Arts Department has also produced many famous painters, artists and architects.
