At the end of Shang Dynasty, after Jiang Ziya helped to defeat Yin, he was sealed to various places, named Chiyou as a soldier god, and built an ancestral temple to worship Zhang Chiyou's tomb in western Shandong.

According to historical records, after Chiyou was killed, his men secretly transported the body back to the old place in western Shandong and buried it in Shouzhang and Juye. According to textual research, Shouzhang was the shroud of Tiqi in the Warring States Period, Shouliang County in the Western Han Dynasty and Shouzhang in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It was once placed in Liangshan County and Dongping County, and now it is under the jurisdiction of yanggu county. At present, experts have determined that the "Huanggu Tomb" in Yanggu is the long-sought tomb of Chiyou. "Hanshu Geography" contains: "Shouzhang, Chiyou Temple is in the northwest"; "Notes on Huanglan Tomb" contains: "Chiyou Tomb, located in Kanxiang Town, Shouzhang County, Dongping County"; "Thirteen State Records" contains: "Shouzhang has a Chiyou Temple." Wang Yi, a poet in the Song Dynasty, once shared a drink with Shen Tuboji in front of Zhang Chiyou's tomb. It is reported that the area of Huanggu's tomb is the same as that of Chiyou's tomb in Huanglan and Water Mirror Notes. Chiyou lived in the period of Longshan culture, and the tomb of Huanggu also belongs to Longshan cultural site. The tomb of Huanggu also has the internal conditions and external characteristics described by Huang Lan.
