(III) General situation of critical care medicine specialty
1. The first nursing specialty in China (ICU direction)
Our hospital has always attached great importance to the construction of ICU nursing specialty. In 2004, we began to offer ICU training courses on campus. The first batch of 30 graduates who received ICU training were in short supply, and all of them were employed by large hospitals, with an employment rate of 100%. Since 2006, ICU nursing specialty has been officially enrolled, which is the first and only college in China. Our hospital was selected as the leading institution for ICU training of nursing specialty in higher vocational colleges in China. In 2007, our hospital was invited to speak at the national ICU seminar. Our college is one of the seven major teaching units in China and the only school representative. In 2008, the experience of ICU teaching reform in our hospital was exchanged at three national medical professional conferences, which was well received by the delegates. In 2008, the Asia-Pacific basic course project sponsored by the Critical Care Medicine Branch of Henan Medical Association, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology was launched in our hospital to train ICU directors for Henan hospitals. The project was approved by the Asia-Pacific Association of Critical Care Medicine (APACCM CM). In March, 2009, our hospital was named the Red Cross Training Base of the Ministry of Railways, and has trained more than 500 ambulancemen 10 stations in the Ministry of Railways. In September, 2009, our hospital held the first ICU Nursing Forum, and invited Chen Yongqiang, the ICU nurse of Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong, the chairman of the Professional Development Committee of the Hong Kong Association of Critical Care Nurses, and Professor Ma Yiguang, the Russian doctor of critical care medicine, to give lectures. More than 65,438 ICU medical staff from nearly 20 hospitals in Henan Province and more than 400 teachers and students from our hospital attended the forum, and Mr. Chen Yongqiang and Professor Ma Yiguang were hired as honorary professors of our hospital. Training programs are also planned with American Heart Association (AHA) and other emergency and ICU.
2. National higher vocational colleges take the lead in setting up respiratory therapy technology specialty.
On the basis of extensive investigation, in 2009, Henan Provincial Department of Education approved the new specialty of respiratory therapy technology declared by our hospital, and officially enrolled students on 20 10 to train respiratory therapists in short supply in China. 20 10 our hospital was confirmed as the leader of the respiratory therapy technology working group of the teaching steering Committee of related medical majors in higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education.
Second, nursing (BTEC direction): the first batch in China, the first in Henan.
In 2009, our college cooperated with Edxcel, the largest certification institution in the UK and the world, and established the British National Diploma in Higher Education Program (BTEC HND) in our college. Edxcel is a combination of University of London Examinations Board (ULEAC, 1836) and British Business Technology Education Board (BTEC, 1973). BTEC is an internationally renowned brand of vocational and technical education, which is owned by assistants. Adopting the international standard quality control system, all certificate courses of Edexcel are supervised and certified by the British Department of Education and Skills (DIUS) and the British Council for Syllabus and Academic Accreditation (QCA). Assistants and third-party British experts who are independent of the UK monitor the operation quality of domestic schools twice a year. BTEC project adopts student-centered interactive teaching, which allows students to show their learning achievements required by the syllabus by completing career-related courses. Pay attention to application operation, teamwork, case analysis and practical innovation; Abandon the traditional exam-based learning evaluation model; Get rid of the shackles of a single designated textbook. When students enter school, they register both Chinese and English, and the teaching adopts bilingual teaching to English teaching. On the basis of studying domestic professional nursing courses, students added 16 British health and community nursing BTEC HND course. After studying in China for three years, they can get a domestic nursing diploma and an internationally recognized British National Diploma in Higher Education (BTEC HND). BTEC graduates have advantages in finding jobs and further studies. In Britain, the employment rate of BTEC graduates exceeds 75%, which is higher than that of undergraduates and postgraduates. At the same time, there are more than 65,438+000 professional organizations and academic institutions in the UK that offer generous exemption and membership conditions to graduates with BTEC HND certificates. In addition, more than 70% of British university degree courses allow students with BTEC HND certificates to enter the final year of study directly. More than 200 universities around the world recognize the British Edith BTEC certificate, and many universities in all Commonwealth countries, the United States and Canada accept HND graduates (note: the above content is taken from Edexcel Chinese website). Obtaining BTEC HND certificate is helpful to get employment in domestic top-three hospitals, foreign-related hospitals and large-scale domestic pension institutions, and you can also study directly in the last year of foreign universities, which not only shortens the study time, but also saves the study funds. More than 400 colleges and universities in Britain offer BTEC courses, and more than 7,000 centers in more than 20 countries around the world have implemented the successful curriculum, teaching and training model of BTEC. In the past four years, Edexcel has carried out BTEC cooperation projects with nearly 60 universities in China, but all of them are non-medical majors. In 2009, the assistant and China Guanghua Science and Technology Foundation Nurse Fund jointly set up in domestic nursing colleges.
Third, jointly organize the undergraduate nursing self-study examination project with Zhengzhou University.
In March, 2009, the self-taught undergraduate nursing examination program was jointly held with Zhengzhou University. Courses are divided into free courses, minor courses, unified examination courses and practical courses. During the period of studying in full-time nursing college, those who pass the two-year undergraduate examination can obtain the undergraduate nursing diploma with electronic registration and national recognition by the Ministry of Education, and those who meet the requirements can be awarded a bachelor's degree. Self-study examination is a useful supplement to academic education and an effective form of undergraduate education tailored for college students, which optimizes and enjoys educational resources. Self-taught students save valuable study time and cost to a great extent, at the same time, they increase their employment competitiveness, expand their development space, and provide necessary conditions for postgraduate entrance examination after graduation. Through this form, we can communicate with undergraduate colleges in teaching, improve teaching quality, and make students form a good atmosphere of diligent study through undergraduate professional education. Weekly college and undergraduate counseling courses are held simultaneously. In the first year of the project, there were 500 undergraduate nursing students in the School of Nursing.
