Creative writing is a creative activity with words as the form and works as the carrier, which is usually called literary creation.

Creative writing appeared in the United States in 1930s, and rose after World War II to solve the employment problem of veterans. Because most of them have no skills, poor cultural foundation, more experience of war than writers, and their writing is more real and convincing, which can record their true feelings, so the course of creative writing came into being. According to the survey, Fudan University was the first to recruit graduate students in creative writing, and the National People's Congress, Tsinghua, Peking University and Nanjing University also started this major one after another. Creative writing major has only been in China for a few years. Every university is learning from the educational models of European and American universities and exploring how its major can take root in China.
