The College was formed by the merger of the former Hechi Regional Education College (established in February 1978), Guangxi Radio and TV University Hechi Branch (established in August 1984) and Hechi National Industry Secondary Vocational School (established in September 1984) in 1995. 1997 1 month, renamed Hechi Higher Vocational College for Nationalities; In August 2003, it was renamed Hechi Vocational College; In February 2008, it was renamed guangxi modern polytechnic college.
The Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is the largest and most powerful engineering department in the college, with more than 1 000 students. Six majors are offered: mechanical manufacturing and automation, numerical control technology, mold design and manufacturing, mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance and management, mechanical and electrical integration, and automobile inspection and maintenance.
